Welcome to Kyz Kuu.
For a while, I harboured an ambition of becoming an erotic novelist. I have a literature-based degree and a few interesting thoughts and theories – kinks, basically – about sex, so I thought I’d try my hand at writing erotica. I wrote a few, posted them on Literotica and got some decent feedback, so I did some research and got in touch with a publishing house here in the UK. It turns out that they were quite interested in my stories, and an editor suggested some changes to my story that would bring it in line with the rest of their canon and asked me to resubmit my manuscript.
But then something weird happened, and I discovered I was more interested in the act of writing an erotic story, and the effects that it had on me and my state of mind. I asked a friend, a lady with quite a strong and well-honed sex drive, to proof my stories and one of the first comments was, “you write like a woman.” Well, given that the main character in the story was a middle-aged woman, I was quite happy to hear that. I’d noticed that the stories flowed much easier if I wrote from a woman’s first-person point of view. I have no idea why that is!
In the end, I couldn’t be as kinky as they wanted me to be – the story didn’t seem to grow organically in that direction – and I seemed to be more interested in strong characterisation and plot; believable people and situations. Additionally, budget cutbacks forced them to concentrate on established authors instead of breaking new ones, but I wasn’t disappointed. I’m proud that I was at least considered good enough to spend time on, from their point of view. But I still wanted people to read the stories, and that’s where you come in.
So how does this site work?
Being interested in both the process of writing a novel and The Lord of the Rings, I was thrilled to receive the full set of books by Christopher Tolkien one christmas. These detail the process, the journey that Tolkien undertook when writing his books. And that’s what I’m bringing you here – the full journey that both I and my characters undertook whilst writing. You’ll see how the story changes, both because of the demands of the editor and the organic growth that the characters underwent as I fleshed them out and let them find their own way through the situations I constructed.
What do I get?
Well, as I said above I wasn’t particularly comfortable getting my characters to become seriously kinky – it felt manufactured and forced. So what you get are some good old-fashioned sexy stories with a fairly moderate level of kinkiness, based on characters you can hopefully relate to and empathise with, and situations that aren’t tooo far out so as to become unbelievable.
I’m a firm believer in the brain being the major erotic zone of the body, and that laughter is a great aphrodisiac. Therefore, my stories all seem to contain some element of comedy – not enough to be incongruous, but enough to make every happy and relaxed, and hopefully put them in the mood for what follows.
Kyz Kuu – WTF?
In Kazakhstan, one of the most popular courting rituals is “Kyz Kuu” – literally, “catch (up to) the girl”. The girl sets off on horseback and the boy chases her on his horse. She fends him off with a whip; if he catches her, he’s rewarded with a kiss.
Basically, I’m an old-fashioned believer in romance, and it appeals to my sense of decorum that men should do the chasing! That’s not to say that my women aren’t empowered and happy to do a little chasing when necessary …
Who is Christopher?
I’m a male just in my thirties, born and raised in the UK. That’s the boring stuff. If you want to find out other, slightly more off-the-wall stuff, check out “100 Things” above or click here.

Hello and firstly thank you for your comment on my newest blog. I am flattered that finding it has led to the creation of this one. I too have been tempted by the idea of writing an erotic novel but found that I prefer to write for myself and my friends. Maybe one day I will make the transition but for now I find that writing to the constraints of agents and publishers doesn’t allow my creativity to flow naturally. I am happy as I am to write in my own style in the knowledge that it may not ever earn me money but it brings pleasure to those priviledged to read it.
As yet I have not begun to read your work but I see that already you have plenty to keep me occupied.
I see you have me on your blogroll I will happy to add you to mine.
